Privacy Policy

Learn how Resuvo collects, uses, and protects your information when using our platform.

Introduction

Resuvo ("Resuvo," "we," "us," or "our") operates the web-based resume builder available at resuvo.net (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the Service.

Your professional story belongs to you. Resuvo's role is to provide tools that help you create, manage, analyze, and export your resume and related professional content.

Information We Collect

Account information

Resuvo currently offers sign-up and sign-in only through Google OAuth. When you sign in, we receive and store the information needed to operate your account: your name and email address. We do not offer email-and-password accounts and do not collect or store passwords, password hashes, or Google credentials.

Resume and professional content

We collect the information you choose to create or store in Resuvo. This can include contact details, employment history, job titles, responsibilities and achievements, education, skills, certifications, projects, professional links, and other resume-related content.

Subscription and billing information

If you subscribe to a paid Resuvo plan, we collect and store information related to your subscription, including your selected plan, billing cycle (monthly or annual), subscription status (active, cancelled, or payment failed), and transaction or payment identifiers. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Razorpay; Resuvo does not receive or store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials.

Service information

We may collect information generated through your use of the Service where needed to operate, secure, support, and improve it. The information collected depends on how you use Resuvo.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and maintain Resuvo; create and manage accounts; store, display, edit, analyze, and export resumes; provide requested AI features; process subscriptions; respond to requests; protect the Service; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your resume content or personal information.

User Content and Ownership

You retain ownership of the resume and professional content you create or upload to Resuvo. Resuvo does not claim intellectual-property ownership of that content.

To provide the Service, you grant Resuvo a limited right to store, process, analyze, reproduce, display, render, and export your content solely to provide the features you request. This includes processing resume data for requested AI-powered analysis and other requested functionality. This limited right ends when it is no longer needed to provide the Service, subject to the retention practices described below.

AI Processing

Resuvo uses OpenAI's API for AI-powered resume-related features. When you request an AI feature (for example, generating a resume bullet, summary, or skill suggestion), relevant resume information and the information you submit for that feature are sent to OpenAI so it can process your request and return the requested AI-generated result.

OpenAI is an independent third-party processor operating under a Data Processing Addendum with Resuvo. By default, OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train or improve its models, and Resuvo does not opt in to any such data-sharing. OpenAI may retain prompts and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse-monitoring and safety purposes, after which they are deleted unless retention is legally required. Because OpenAI's API infrastructure is located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), this processing involves a transfer of personal information from the EEA to the United States, carried out under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and incorporated into our agreement with OpenAI.

Resuvo does not currently use user resume or professional content to train its own AI models. If Resuvo introduces such a programme in the future, we will update this Policy, provide clear advance notice, and obtain your explicit, opt-in consent before using your content for that purpose. You will be able to withdraw that consent at any time.

Where feasible and appropriate, Resuvo may seek to use de-identified or anonymized information for future improvement efforts. Any future programme will explain the categories of information involved, its purpose, and the choices available to users. Please review AI-generated output before using it; you remain responsible for the content you choose to include in a resume.

Google Authentication

Resuvo uses Google OAuth (Google Sign-In) as the sole method for account creation and login. When you sign in with Google, Resuvo requests access to your basic profile information and email address only. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or any other Google service or data.

We use this information solely to create and identify your Resuvo account and to enable core account functionality such as login and account recovery. We do not use your Google profile information for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to operating your Resuvo account.

Resuvo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your use of Google's services is also governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy policy.

Payments and Razorpay

Razorpay handles payment processing for paid Resuvo plans. Resuvo does not claim to store full payment-card numbers, CVV numbers, or banking credentials. We may retain subscription status, selected plan, transaction or payment identifiers, and relevant billing information needed to operate subscriptions, maintain records, and provide the Service.

Paid Resuvo plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) through Razorpay's subscription and e-mandate systems, in accordance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations for recurring payments. Before each recurring charge, you will receive a pre-debit notification in advance of the payment. You may cancel your subscription at any time; see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details on how cancellations and refunds are handled.

How We Share Information

We may share or permit processing of information with the service providers necessary to operate the Service: Google for authentication, OpenAI for requested AI processing, and Razorpay for payment processing.

We may also disclose information where required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud or security issues, or protect Resuvo, our users, or others. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of Resuvo's business or assets, subject to applicable law. If such a transfer involves a material change in how your information is processed, we will notify you and, where required, provide you with choices regarding your information. Third-party providers process information under their own applicable terms and privacy policies.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the Service, maintain accounts, provide requested functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect legitimate interests. Some information may be retained longer where required or permitted by applicable law.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Resuvo may use cookies, local storage, or similar technical storage where necessary to provide authentication, session continuity, or core application functionality. We do not state in this Policy that Resuvo uses analytics pixels, advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or similar technologies unless and until those practices are introduced and disclosed. If our practices materially change, we will update this Policy.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information; to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or to object to or restrict certain processing.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, we process your personal information under the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you, to create and operate your account and provide the Service (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); our legitimate interest in securing, maintaining, and improving the Service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); and your consent, where processing depends on it, such as sending your information to OpenAI for AI-powered features (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.

For users in India, Resuvo will handle personal-information requests in accordance with applicable Indian privacy and data-protection requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules, where they apply. Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights where relevant privacy laws apply to Resuvo and the processing at issue. We may need to verify your identity and may be unable to fulfill a request where an exception under applicable law applies.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Resuvo account and associated personal information by contacting us. We will process requests subject to information that we must retain to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect legitimate interests.

International Data Transfers

Resuvo operates from India and may be used internationally. Your information may be processed in India, Germany (where our servers are located), or other countries where Resuvo's service providers operate — including the United States, where OpenAI processes information for AI-powered features. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Where we transfer personal information from the EEA or UK to a country that has not received an adequacy decision from the European Commission, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another valid transfer mechanism recognized under applicable law to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Children's Privacy

Resuvo is not directed to children who cannot lawfully use the Service under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can address the issue.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on Google, OpenAI, and Razorpay for the purposes described in this Policy. These providers have their own privacy policies and terms governing their independent processing of information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the Last updated date above. If we introduce a material new processing activity—particularly one involving the use of user content to improve or train Resuvo's own AI models—we will update this Policy and provide appropriate notice. Where required, we will obtain consent or provide an appropriate opt-out choice.
